As COVID-19 has spread and has now been declared a global pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), we wanted to touch on the best ways you can stay healthy through this period
Steps to keeping healthy
Reduce Stress Levels
There is a lot happening around the world today and in our lives which can trigger our stress levels, However it is important to understand how this stress response can not only impact your health but also your immunity, which is why it is important to work on reducing your stress
Stress increases the release of cortisol as the body enters ‘fight or flight’ mode, which suppresses your immune response, and slows digestion (where most of your bodies immune capacity lies)
In addition, stress decreases the body’s lymphocytes — the white blood cells that help fight off infection. The lower your lymphocyte level, the more at risk you are for viruses, especially COVID-19

Eat a Ketogenic Diet
Keto is a diet that focuses on removing processed foods and sugar from our diet and replacing with moderate proteins and complex carbs. Sugar and processed foods are hard for the body to digest, resulting in weight gain, health problems and more.
Eating good quality foods on a ketogenic diet, and removing processed foods and sugar, will allow you to have more energy, better sleep, boost your immune system and stabilize your mood. All of these are essential to providing you with good health.

Wash Your Hands Washing hands regularly using soap and water, or alcohol-based hand sanitiser, will keep your hands clean and clear of germs. WHO recommends that people clean hands regularly with soap and water, and dry hands thoroughly. When washing hands, you should wash for 20 seconds to ensure hands are clean.
Social Distancing Social Distancing doesn’t mean locking yourself and family away until the COVID-19 pandemic passes over, however it does mean some practical suggestions to help distance yourself from others to reduce your risk of contracting COVID-19 and reducing the spread.
Avoid large gatherings.
Stay 1.5m apart from people.
Avoid touching surfaces in public.
Work from home where possible.
Limit activities that involve close contact.
